Goslar strengthens culture: 285,000 euros for creative projects in 2025!
At the last council meeting before the summer break, an important decision was made in the city of Goslar: funding for art and culture in 2025 will receive a strong boost. As regionalheute.de reports, cultural grants amounting to around 101,000 euros were approved, which will primarily benefit local cultural institutions and associations. In addition, a further 173,000 euros will go to cultural institutions that have long-term funding agreements. Smaller support amounts totaling 10,500 euros are awarded directly by the administration, which increases the total funding to almost 285,000 euros.
But it's not just the city of Goslar that shows commitment to cultural policy. Another chapter was opened in the Goslar district today: the investment support program for smaller cultural institutions was launched. As harzregion.de reports, this program is aimed at small cultural institutions and cultural associations in Lower Saxony. They are supported in the maintenance of structural measures as well as in the procurement and expansion of digital infrastructure and event technology. Energy measures are also in focus: Sustainability and environmental protection should be given priority here by supporting cultural institutions in improving their energy efficiency.
Funding for sustainability and digital infrastructure
The energy efficiency of cultural institutions is a crucial issue for the future. The funding program focuses on the introduction of renewable energies and the optimization of heating and cooling systems. The aim is not only to reduce the ecological footprint, but also to save energy costs in the long term. Applications can be submitted to the Regionalverband Harz e.V. by September 30, 2023. Further information about the application can be found at harzregion.de.
The state of Lower Saxony also supports cultural projects at various levels. According to mwk.niedersachsen.de there are three pillars of cultural funding. The first includes the institutional funding of cultural institutions, the other two sides focus on project and program funding as well as regional cultural funding. This means that innovative cultural projects that involve the community can also be funded by the state.
Overall, it shows that both the city of Goslar and the state of Lower Saxony make a strong commitment to supporting art and culture. It becomes clear that the value of cultural offerings is not lost even in times of crisis. Interested cultural institutions and associations should take advantage of the funding available and submit their applications on time.
