Mats Röper celebrates double victory: championship title for Sulinger karting talents!
The 2025 kart slalom season got off to a brilliant start for the young talents at MSG Sulingen. Particularly in the spotlight is Mats Röper, who not only won the 36th ADAC Youth Kart Slalom in Sulinger Land in the K3 class, but was also crowned Lower Saxony Champion 2025 a week later at the 55th Innerste Youth Kart Slalom in Langelsheim. With a lead of more than 300 points over the runner-up, Mats impressively demonstrated his dominance in the championship.
Committed and full of energy, Mats mastered the challenge in Goslar, where he achieved two best times (40.81 and 40.82 seconds), even if he received two seconds penalty due to pylon errors. Despite these setbacks, he came sixth in the K3 class, but before that he had already achieved two first places and one second place in the collected runs. Interestingly, Mats' next competitions are just around the corner: the North German Championship on September 21st in Osnabrück and the German Championship on October 18th and 19th in Thuringia.
Strong team spirit in Sulingen
There was further good news for Leon Wespa, who also qualified for the German Championships with a strong third place in Langelsheim. With two error-free runs (41.81 and 41.72 seconds) he showed not only his driving skills but also his mental strength under pressure. These two achievements cemented MSG Sulingen's good reputation as an important venue for youth kart slalom, especially with the successful organization of the 36th run, which was made possible by the active support of volunteers and the Wortmann family.
But it wasn't just the top drivers who received recognition. Overall, other MSG kart drivers also presented themselves strongly in the home run. Milan Mennicken took 12th place, Julius Kinner followed in 13th place, while Frauke-Abigail Heine came 14th. Jonas Kotowski celebrated his debut and finished 21st. Lina Hansen set a nice example with her 6th place in the K1 class when she won her first trophy.
A look into the future of karting
The competition in which MSG Sulingen is now shining is part of the Lower Saxony kart slalom, the organization of which is based on the provisions of the “dmsj – Regulations 2025”. Interested drivers can take part without a license, making it easier to get started in this exciting sport. Kart slalom remains a popular entry into the world of motorsport for many, allowing them to shine on the big stage of the ADAC Kart Slalom Federal Final, which will play a central role together with the German Kart Slalom Championship from 2025.
From 2024 there will also be changes, such as the use of electrically powered karts, which are intended to modernize the entire racing experience and make youth sports more environmentally friendly. The aim is to use synergies and avoid duplicate structures so that the young talents in karting can benefit.
Overall, the start of the season shows promising progress and provides an exciting outlook on the challenges ahead. The great performance of Mats Röper, Leon Wespa and their comrades not only strengthens their ambitions in the sport, but also the MSG Sulingen's successful course in kart slalom.
District newspaper reported that MSG Sulingen once again presents a strong team. The NFM provides comprehensive information about the championships while the ADAC sets the course for the future direction of karting.
