Not only did a few flakes fall on the highest point in the Harz, the Brocken, but there was also snow in other places, such as in Schierke and at the Drei Annen Hohne station of the Harz Brockenbahn. While the traffic situation remains tense and is only slowly calming down, a meteorologist warns that the snow cover could melt again quickly due to the warm ground.

An official storm warning of possible hurricane gusts is currently in effect for the highest altitudes in the Harz Mountains. This warning also has an impact on rail transport: the narrow-gauge railways are currently not running to the summit, which poses additional challenges for travelers. Streamlines will move through the coming week and stormy weather is also expected.
