This is particularly relevant because the statistics of the Federal Statistical Office delivers comprehensive data on the traffic safety situation and is the basis for measures in transport policy. These statistics offer valuable insights that serve both legislation as well as for traffic education and infrastructure development.

The importance of traffic safety

In 2023 there were a total of 2.7 million traffic accidents in Germany, of which around 18 percent led to injured. These numbers are not only statistics, but also illustrate the vulnerability in road traffic. The accident statistics alone shows how important it is to analyze the causes of traffic accidents and develop suitable measures to reduce the risk. Eurostat emphasizes that it is not only about the recording of accidents, but also about investigating the dependencies between accident-determining factors and their influence on traffic safety.

Especially in rural regions such as the district of Goslar, traffic safety is often considered for granted. But accidents like this remind us to be mindful. Motorcyclists in particular are particularly at risk, and the monitoring of traffic safety could be crucial here. A well thought -out concept for traffic education could be the key to avoiding such tragic accidents.

With a look at the accident statistics, it becomes clear that every road user should not only pay attention to themselves, but also to others. Because there is no scope for negligence in road traffic.
