Gold rush in the Weserbergland: 19 talents conquer North German championships!
The North German Championships in roller skating, which took place from October 23rd to 26th in Bonn, impressively showed how talented the athletes of the Weserbergland are. A total of 19 athletes, nominated by the Lower Saxony Roller Sports and Inline Association, took up the challenge and brought home a total of ten gold, two silver and four bronze medals. This is a real cause for celebration and the participants not only made their clubs proud, but also the entire region!
The performance of Darian Asmussen from SC Hameln-Hilligsfeld was particularly outstanding, winning the gold medal in the junior men's category with 118.89 points. There were also exciting competitions for the women. Leonie Maluschka (RST Hummetal) secured second place in the junior women's category with 64.70 points, while Celina Hartwig came sixth with 40.04 points. The high level of these championships was underlined by the remarkable performance of Jelko van Aaken (SC Hameln-Hilligsfeld), who achieved first place in the junior men's solo dance with 95.03 points.
Successes in roller dancing and youth
In the junior roller dancing, the teams of van Aaken and Lene Börsing (RST Hummetal) shone, also securing first place with 85.48 points. And there was also a lot of reason for the youth to be happy: Lilly-Ann Oppermann (SC Hameln-Hilligsfeld) won gold in the youth women's category with 88.63 points. Lina Krumschmidt (RST Hummetal) and Emma Deutschmann (RST Hummetal) followed with silver and bronze.
Another highlight was the solo dancing, where Lene Bösing (RST Hummetal) won gold in the youth category. Ida Salameh (RST Hummetal) also showed with bronze in the Student A Girls category that she has a lot of potential at the North German level despite her inexperience. Kian Varan (RST Hummetal) won gold in the student A boys' solo dance and together with Ida he also won the student A roller dance with 69.55 points. It's nice to see how the young talents prove themselves on the big stage!
Last competitions before winter training
For many of the athletes it was the last competition of the season before winter training begins. Kian Varan and Jelko van Aaken are looking forward to the challenges ahead at the European Cup, which takes place in Portugal from November 8th to 16th. This tournament will be another opportunity to showcase their skills and learn from their previous experiences.
It is interesting that RSV Einbeck was also able to win gold medals in several competitions at the North German Championships in Bremerhaven. They competed in five disciplines and excelled in four of them. Merle Krawietz, for example, who triumphed in the Student C Girls Solo Dance, showed an impressive Denver Shuffle in the compulsory dances and kept her competition in check.
Helena Fialka and Emma Drews joined the winning ranks, and the Junior Formation Dream Team was also able to shine with technical challenges, which opens up an exciting perspective for the upcoming competitions. The atmosphere was so electric that you could feel the ambition and determination that drives all the athletes - a true celebration of the sport of roller skating!
With this in mind, we wish all athletes successful preparation for the challenges ahead; may they enjoy the competitions as much as the competitions in Bonn and Bremerhaven!
