New McDonald's in Hameln: Groundbreaking ceremony for a modern fast food experience!
The groundbreaking ceremony for a new McDonald's branch in Hameln took place on Thursday morning. This will be built directly on the opposite side of Hastenbecker Weg. McDonald's move was only officially confirmed last week. The decision for the new location was made at the end of last year, which shows that there is great interest in improving the restaurant infrastructure in the region. Franchisees Maike and Emanuel Neuenroth have already announced some exciting improvements.
One of the most notable innovations will be the new two-lane McDrive, which will elegantly wrap around the building. Access is via Marienthaler Straße with two exits: one to the west side of the property on Hastenbecker Weg and the other via Marienthaler Straße. This concept is intended to significantly alleviate the arrival and departure problems at the previous location in Hameln. The privately run restaurant will be built on a plot of land measuring approximately 4,000 square meters. Earthworks are currently underway, the completion of which will enable a more precise assessment of completion.
Planned innovations and infrastructure
The construction time of the new McDonald's branch is estimated at 17 weeks from the start of construction. During the relocation period, the restaurant will only be closed for a few days to move kitchen utensils to the new location. The old location will then be sold through a bidding process. The new building is expected to offer space for around 95 indoor and 100 outdoor seats, and the terrace will also be three times larger than the existing one. A “Playland” is planned for the younger guests. In addition, the restaurant will be equipped with four menu production lines, a large lobby and an app ordering that enables delivery to your car. Not to forget, the new building will have a solar system, modern cold storage facilities and 40 parking spaces, some of which will have electric charging stations.
Particularly interesting: 13 of the parking spaces are located directly on the parking strip, where the local tuner scene gathers. Maike and Emanuel Neuenroth have been running the McDonald's branch since 2016 and are also known from other cities such as Bad Pyrmont, Einbeck, Giesen, Alfeld and Holzminden.
Expansion in Warburg
But something is not only happening in Hamelin. The groundbreaking ceremony for a new McDonald's will also take place in Warburg on September 9th. According to Warburg News, the topping-out ceremony will be celebrated there on October 1st, with the opening of the new building planned for December 17th, 2023. Here too, the Neuenroths are grateful for the quick approval of the construction project and the great cooperation with the city of Warburg and the local craftsmen.
Around 50 people will be employed in this new branch in Warburg. Applications have already been accepted and the first hires have already taken place. As part of the topping-out ceremony, construction managers Danny Rimbach and Marcel Holl gave humorous topping-out sayings that were announced on the roof of the shell of the building. Here, too, it is clear that the news from McDonald's is generating great interest in the region.
Maike Neuenroth took over the company in 2016 from her father, who had been a franchisee since 2003. The commitment of the Neuenroth family and their far-reaching plans make it clear that the fast food giant not only runs a business, but also makes a significant contribution to regional development. Whether in Hameln or Warburg, the positive changes of the next few months are eagerly awaited!
