Rescue on the bridge: Dramatic operation in Hamelin!

In the late afternoon of September 9, 2025, there was a dramatic operation by police and rescue workers in Hamelin. The situation on the banks of the Weser came to a head when a person who was masked behind the railing of the blue bridge to the Werder threatened to fall into the depths. The report of this threatening situation reached the emergency services shortly after 5 p.m. and led to a large contingent consisting of lifeboats and current rescuers. Even though the water was not deep at this point, the impending danger made the situation serious.

After more than half an hour, the 26-year-old was finally freed from her predicament. The emergency services took her into police custody, carried out a medical examination and then referred her to a clinic. The person's motivation remained unclear, but it is assumed that the motivation was internal. During the operation, more than a hundred onlookers watched the events on the banks of the Weser, which added additional stress to the worrying situation.
