VfL Hameln A-Juniors shine in the home game: 48:28 against Vinnhorst II!

An impressive home performance by the A-Juniors of VfL Hameln, who celebrated a clear 48:28 against TuS Vinnhorst II last Sunday. Coach Sebastian Steup was visibly satisfied with his team's performance and particularly praised the concentrated defensive work and effectiveness in attack. After just six minutes, the Hamelin team led 5-2 and thus laid the foundation for their eventual victory. Thanks to a stable defense, the guests were unable to find any main attacking options and could only place throws from the wide positions.

Although Vinnhorst had a short phase of catching up and got to 7:8, VfL quickly pulled away again. Steup also referred to the successful interaction with the circle and the strong performance in outnumbered situations. After halftime, the Hamelin team continued to dominate the game and every field player contributed a goal to the impressive final score. Goalkeeper Ole Himler even showed a remarkable assist for his teammate Paul Barbisan.

Team strength and individual achievements

What was particularly remarkable was the team's overall performance, which showed a good knack for implementing the moves. The coach praised Berkay Kaptan for his outstanding performance on offense and defense, while Bent Kopperschmidt impressed both in the game and in training. The goal scorers for VfL Hameln are impressive:

From the 2025/2026 season, the team will play in the regional league for the first time under the leadership of coach Marc Siegesmund. With targeted reinforcements, the team should assert itself in the new league, which brings with it both a higher pace and experienced opponents. The support of the fans is seen as an indispensable success factor.
