Hannover Klassik Open Air: opera magic in the open air!

On July 8, 2025, Hanover will once again be the venue for the Hannover Klassik Open Air. Under the motto “Opera for everyone”, visitors can look forward to a varied program that is all about well-known masterpieces and exciting new discoveries. Admission is free, which makes the event a real highlight for all music lovers. The venue is the picturesque park meadow in front of the New Town Hall.

The event is taking place for the eleventh time and could not be better under the musical direction of Stanislav Kochanovsky, the new chief conductor of the NDR Radiophilharmonie. The maestro brings extraordinary experience from over 60 opera and ballet performances at the St. Petersburg Mikhailovsky Theater. At his side are top-class soloists such as Oksana Dyka, Boris Pinkhasovich and Liparit Avetisyan, who will enchant the audience with their impressive voices.

A celebration for everyone

To make the experience accessible to everyone, the events will be broadcast on two large video screens. Those who cannot be there have the opportunity to follow the performances live on NDR Kultur on August 22nd, while a livestream on August 23rd on Arte Concert ensures a wider reach. This means that anyone who wants to can take part in this unique experience – no matter where they are.

For those who prefer to enjoy it on site, free tickets will be available from August 13th. Special features are also the public viewings of the event in Maschpark, which will take place on August 20th and 21st. Here you can look forward to two areas, each with space for around 1,000 people, and there is also a cozy “picnic” zone for 210 people. The live broadcasts offer a great ambience with an LED wall and sonorous sound.

Safe participation

The events are held in compliance with a strict hygiene concept, which was coordinated with the health protection department of the Hanover region. A negative test result (not older than 24 hours) and a valid ID are required to participate. Doors open at 6 p.m. and broadcasts begin at 8 p.m.

The Hanover city administration, the NDR Radiophilharmonie and numerous partners such as ROSSMANN and the VHV Foundation made this impressive event possible. Take advantage of the chance to be there and experience the unique ambience of opera and open air in the Lower Saxony state capital. Further information and the ticket offer can be found on the event website at: www.hannover-klassik-open-air.de.

The Hannover Klassik Open Air promises to be a cultural festival that will be an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors.
