needs of citizens

There is a lot of interest, especially from women who often have questions about topics such as medications or nutritional supplements. A visitor, Heike Löser, took the opportunity to find out about vaccination against cystitis and received valuable advice from Dr. Rühmkorb-Claassen. The doctors emphasize that their mobile consultation does not offer any treatments, diagnoses or sick notes. “We don’t want to create competition with existing practices,” explains Dr. Hörning and adds that more than half of the patients in Lower Saxony go directly to a hospital when they have symptoms.[ndr.de].

In addition to this initiative, there is also a “Café Med” in Bramsche, where eight retired doctors offer their expertise once a month. In this context, the AOK has already called for a conversion plan to improve medical care in the country. This also includes more study places for medical students and better opportunities for career changers in the medical profession.[ndr.de].

Medical care in focus

With an action plan that contains ten points to improve health care, Lower Saxony is positioning itself in an urgently needed reform process. As the demand for medical advice increases, it becomes clear how important it is to create low-threshold services that make it easier for citizens to access health information.

A promising step that represents a valuable resource not only for the participants in the market consultation, but for the entire region. It will be exciting to see how this initiative develops in the coming months and what impact it has on citizens' health awareness.
