ASV Hamm is defeated by Eintracht Hildesheim: development needed before the start of the season!

An exciting test match recently took place in the arena when ASV Hamm-Westfalen met Eintracht Hildesheim. However, the result of 27:32 represents a challenge for the team, but also shows a clear development process that the team is going through. All this reported calf.

In front of around 360 spectators, the game was rather mixed for ASV. The team showed some technical errors in the first half, which led to a 19:13 deficit at the break. Managing director Markus Fuchs expressed dissatisfaction with the first half and described it as disappointing. On the other hand, the guests from Hildesheim, with a former ASV player, Jan Wesemann, in their ranks, were able to manage their lead successfully.

Upward trend in the second half

After the half-time break, ASV Hamm-Westphalia performed better and was almost able to make up for the deficit. Marcis Colodeti, who did a good job in goal, and the offensive reinforcement from returnee Jan Brosch helped ASV win 14:13 in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Niklas Neumann reduced the score to 24:26, which gave the spectators hope. Ultimately, however, it wasn't enough and the team had to admit defeat.

After the game, ASV coach Jörn-Uwe Lommel emphasized the need for more training time together, as the team is still in the development phase. With long-term injuries such as Ole Machner and Lucas Firnhaber as well as the ailing Gasper Horvat, the squad was not in top form. Nevertheless, the team showed in the second half that they have the potential to improve and be competitive next season.

Preparation for the coming season

The demands on the team are growing as both teams will compete in the 3rd league next season - Hildesheim in the North-East group and ASV in the North-West season. Managing director Fuchs sees the defeat as a warning that should be taken seriously. Before the friendly against Hildesheim, ASV had already suffered a defeat against VfL Eintracht Hagen, which put additional pressure on the team.

Overall, the performances show that ASV still have work to do, but the upward trend in the second half could be a good sign for the future. It remains to be seen how things will turn out in the upcoming season. Fans and supporters can be excited to see how the team will develop under Jörn-Uwe Lommel.
