BR Volleys celebrate their first win of the season: dominant 3-0 win against Warnemünde!

On Wednesday evening there was a reason to celebrate for the fans of the Berlin Recycling Volleys in the Max-Schmeling-Halle. The team was able to achieve its first win of the season in the Bundesliga by clearly defeating newly promoted SV Warnemünde 3-0 (25:15, 25:13, 25:11). This strong performance catapulted the team to seventh place in the table. Berlin recycling volleys reports that Jake Hanes was named MVP of the match after scoring 13 points, including six aces and two blocks.

The charismatic head coach Joel Banks relied on a balanced strategy and brought in the players Moritz Reichert, Nolan Flexen, Jake Hanes, Fedor Ivanov, Matt Knigge, Nehemiah Mote and libero Kyle Dagostino. A clear picture emerged in the first set: The BR Volleys quickly led 7:3, supported by an impressive block from Flexen and numerous service aces from Hanes. The first period ended with 25:15 for the hosts.

Dominance in the game

In the second set, the BR Volleys showed their class again and won 25:13. They left no doubts in the last set either and secured victory with 25:11. A total of 3,617 spectators watched the event, which created a great atmosphere in the hall. A small highlight was the comeback of Maximilian Treiter, who came on as a substitute for the last five points of the game.

With this strong performance, the BR Volleys were able to further increase their self-confidence. The next challenges are already waiting, as they will face Helios Grizzlys Giesen on November 1st, followed by a cup game on November 8th against TSV Herrsching II and another league game on November 12th against SVG Lüneburg.

The Berlin Recycling Volleys are a traditional volleyball team that was founded in 1989 and is based in Berlin. The team is part of SCC Berlin and plays in both the German Bundesliga and the CEV Champions League. From 1992 to 2025, the Bern Recycling Volleys were able to collect an impressive 15 championship titles as well as 8 DVV cup victories and 6 titles in the CEV Champions League. Wikipedia shows that the team was known under the name SCC Berlin until 2011 and until then played in the Sömmeringhalle in Charlottenburg.
