Icebreakers rock the M'era Luna Festival: anniversary and new hits!
The M’era Luna Festival, which will take place in Hildesheim on August 9th and 10th, 2025, is celebrating a very special anniversary this year: 25 years of alternative music and a passionate gathering of the black scene. This year the festival is sold out and attracts more than 25,000 guests to Drispenstedt Airport. The anticipation is huge, and the first musical highlights have already thrilled the listeners.
Particularly noteworthy was the performance of the band Eisbrecher, who performed on the main stage on Saturday, August 9th. With their new guitarist Marc Richter, who replaced Jochen Seibert in the band in 2024, they provided a rousing show. In addition to tried and tested hits, they also presented new songs from their album “Kaltfront°!”, which was released in March 2025. Looking back at the roots of the band, which was founded in 2003 by Alexander Wesselsky and Jochen Seibert, it is fascinating to see how Eisbrecher bring the Neue Deutsche Härte style back to life with their German lyrics.
A diverse program
The festival offers much more than just music. Two open-air stages and a stage in the hangar, which is used for fashion shows and discussions, enrich the experience. Throughout the weekend, visitors can also take part in readings with well-known authors such as Markus Heitz and Christian von Aster or marvel at the latest trends in Gothic fashion at a fashion show in the hangar.
On the first day of the festival, acts such as the a cappella band Stimmeviolent and Lord Of The Lost, who performed their “OPVS NOIR Vol. 1” release show, created a great atmosphere. The DJs Bruno Kramm and Dorian Deveraux also heated up the disco hangar.
A look at the headliners
On Sunday there will be another highlight of the festival with the synth-pop band And One. Co-headliners such as Heil, who fascinate with their Nordic ritual folk, and Subway to Sally with their medieval rock will also appear. The extensive lineup makes it clear that there is something for every taste. There are a total of 38 bands in the program, including numerous well-known groups such as Apocalyptica, Tanzwut and Samsas Traum.
NDR.de and arte Concert will broadcast live from the event and offer the option of accessing on-demand streams later. This gives fans the chance to enjoy the performances again, even if they couldn't be there.
With the weather hovering around 26 degrees and music in the air, the M’era Luna Festival is a real experience for all fans of gothic and alternative culture. Tickets for Saturday are already sold out, but remaining tickets for Sunday are still available, so hurry up if you want to be part of this unique celebration!
