The 23rd Kehrwieder Cup will kick off at VfR Ochtersum on July 7, 2025. The anticipation for this local football event is increasing, because a total of 12 teams, ranging from the district league to the state league, will take part in the tournament. With an exciting format of four groups of three teams each, the tournament will be held from Monday to Thursday, starting at 6 p.m. The semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday, July 12th, before the big final takes place the following Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Fritz Ziesener Arena on Philosophenweg. The group division also gives hope for exciting encounters, for example with strong teams such as SV Newroz Hildesheim, FC Concordia Hildesheim and VfR Ochtersum itself. wir-ochtersumer.de has published the group division and the game plan for anyone interested.
There will also be a very special interlude game as part of the Kehrwieder Cup. On the Sunday before the final, the upper division team VfV Borussia 06 Hildesheim will play against a Hildesheim all-star team. The idea for this selection comes from Anton Gebhard, managing director of Sportnews Hildesheim, and is supported by Daniel Rothert, head of marketing at the Gerstenberg media company. In order to emphasize the local character of this game, most of the players will come from Hildesheim players in the state and district leagues. A highlight that football fans can look forward to!

An independent jury has already selected 18 out of a total of 22 players for the all-star team. Interested readers now have the opportunity to submit suggestions for the remaining five places. However, only district league players may be nominated. If you would like to make a suggestion, you should hurry: the deadline for submissions is June 23rd at 8 p.m. A profile of the player and a portrait photo are required for submission.
