On Sunday night, a serious traffic accident occurred on state road 486 in Winzenburg. At 3:50 a.m., a 40-year-old driver from the Hildesheim district left the road for unknown reasons and crashed into a tree. Luckily, both the driver and his 42-year-old passenger were able to free themselves from the vehicle and were then taken to nearby hospitals in an ambulance Hildesheimer Allgemeine reported.
During this incident, fuel leaked from the car, which was removed by the road maintenance department. The material damage is estimated at 15,000 euros. Investigations are currently underway into the exact cause of the accident, which has not yet been conclusively clarified.
