Lüneburg's BerufsBeats Festival: Music meets future opportunities!

Where are you going after school? Many students ask themselves this question, and this is exactly where the BerufsBeats Festival in Lüneburg comes into play. How NDR reported, the festival attracted a total of 1,600 young people to downtown Lüneburg on September 11th and 12th, 2025. Here, visitors not only experienced a great festival atmosphere, but also a wide range of career orientation options.

The two initiators, Katherine Schebesch and Mareile Truxius from the company Berry2b, wanted to use their concept to show that career orientation can be fun. In the co-working spaces, on the market square and in the town hall there was the opportunity to find out about apprenticeships and study programs from 40 exhibitors. Interactive workshops and informative formats were offered. Students from the ninth grade onwards were able to look forward to creative and exciting offers while they explore their professional future.

A festival with heart and purpose

The motto of the festival was “Career orientation can be fun,” and this was visible in every detail. The event was free, but workshops had to be booked in advance to give students an intensive and personal experience. The festival was not only aimed at participants from Lüneburg, but also invited schools from the surrounding districts of Harburg, Uelzen and Lüchow-Dannenberg, such as berufsbeats.de highlights.

The aim was to motivate young visitors to gain practical experience in a pleasant environment. “Here we make career orientation tangible and, above all, cool,” say the organizers. A special highlight was taking part in a rally where participants could win prizes. True to the motto “take a look, join in”, the students were not only able to obtain information, but also actively immerse themselves in what was happening.

A contribution to securing skilled workers

The initiative behind this festival is supported by various organizations and programs to help young people start their careers. Loud BMBF Early career orientation is now promoted through programs such as the career orientation program (BOP). This includes, among other things, a potential analysis in the 7th grade and practice-oriented career days in the 8th grade.

Support with training is more important than ever, especially since many young people are often unsure about their career path. The festival therefore aims to not only promote the talents and interests of the students, but also to make a contribution to securing skilled workers. Finally, at the festival there was not only the opportunity to get in touch with training companies, but important information and materials for career orientation were also available through workshops and stands.

The positive response to the first edition promises a repeat: the festival is already being planned for next year. An impressive example of how creative formats and targeted training opportunities can help young people choose a career, all in a colorful festival setting. So it will be exciting to see what the next edition of the BerufsBeats Festival has to offer!
