LüneHünen celebrate their fourth win: 3-1 against Netzhoppers!

A big evening for the LüneHünen! On November 1st, 2025, the volleyball players from Lüneburg continued their impressive run in the current season by winning 3-1 against Netzhopper KW in the LKH Arena. With this victory, the LüneHünen have now achieved four wins from four games and are showing impressive form. A total of 3,006 enthusiastic fans cheered on their team and experienced an exciting match that was characterized by highs and lows.

The encounter started promisingly for the LüneHünen, who impressed right from the start with a 7-1 lead. Santeri Välimaa was a real cheerleader with a strong series of serves. In the first set, the team delivered an incredible attack rate of 76.2%, which gave the fans reason to be happy. But in the second set the tide turned: The Netzhoppers started strong and quickly led 19:10, which ultimately led to a 16:25 set loss for LüneHünen.

A contested sentence

Things got particularly exciting in the third set, which coach Stefan Hübner described as “crunch time”. The LüneHünen were initially 1:6 behind, but didn't give up and fought their way back into the game, winning the set 28:26. This is where Joscha Kunstmann and Axel Larsen came into play, securing the decisive set point. The fourth set then showed the dominance of LüneHünen, who clearly won 25:19 and won the match.

Christopher Byam was named the game's most valuable player (MVP), while Theo Timmermann from the Netzhoppers stood out as his team's best scorer with 20 points. Netzhopper coach Liam Sketcher praised his team's performance, but also emphasized the urgency of performing better in crucial moments to secure future success.

Looking ahead to the next games

The evening was less fortunate for the Green Heroes as they suffered a defeat against the Grizzlys. After a solid first set, which they lost 21:25, there were two clear set losses (12:25 each) in the second and third sets. Patrick Rupprecht was the top scorer of the game for the Green Heroes. The next duel awaits the LüneHünen next Wednesday when they face the Green Heroes in the Geothermal Arena. The team is chasing points as national runner-up and also in the Champions League.
