Lamberti market: 110 huts bring a festive atmosphere to Oldenburg!
It's getting festive in Oldenburg! Next Tuesday, November 25th, 2025, the traditional Lambertimarkt will open its doors around the historic Lambertikirche. The opening will be celebrated this evening at 5 p.m. and preparations are in full swing. According to NWZonline, a total of 110 decorated huts are being built here, which will create a great Advent atmosphere even before the opening.
The Lambertimarkt not only attracts locals, but also many visitors from the region. Here you can find everything your heart desires in the run-up to Christmas. From the countless culinary delicacies such as mulled wine and roasted almonds, to handicrafts and gift items. The variety of stands promises an experience for the whole family.
Special highlights
A special program accompanies the market full of festive atmosphere until December 22nd. Every Saturday from 5:10 p.m. there is festive trombone music from the town hall balcony, which is guaranteed to provide the right Advent sound. There is also a family singing event every Saturday and Sunday, which invites young and old alike to sing along. If you prefer something a little quieter, you can listen to the traditional Lamberti singing every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. from December 2nd.
Opening times and arrival
The Lambertimarkt huts are open from Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays until 9:30 p.m. Particularly practical: The market is located in the city center of Oldenburg, which makes it easy to get there by bus and train. The Pulverturm and Schlossplatz stops are in the immediate vicinity, so visitors who arrive by train can also get to the market quickly.
The picturesque backdrop of the castle, old town hall and St. Lamberti Church make visiting the market a special experience. The festive lights and the loving design of the huts also create a homely atmosphere that you simply have to experience.
But it's not just Oldenburg that has a lot to offer, other Christmas markets in Germany are also known far beyond the region. As ADAC reports, the Christmas markets attract millions of visitors. From traditional markets like the Dresden Striezelmarkt to newer events that put Christmas in a special setting. The variety ranges from small markets in idyllic villages to large city events with special programs.
Be there and let yourself be enchanted by the magical atmosphere of the Lambertimarkt - a highlight of the pre-Christmas season in Oldenburg!
