The district of Oldenburg has a lot to offer at the weekend! In summer temperatures of up to 30 degrees, people are drawn outside. A variety of leisure options are waiting to be explored. Whether in the outdoor pools or at festive events - boredom does not arise.

Unfortunately, the outdoor pools in Wildeshausen and Harpstedt are currently in renovation, so that the swimmers have to switch to the alternatives in Ganderkesee, Kirchhatten and the natural pool in Hude. However, the bathing fun is guaranteed there!

On Saturday, June 14th, the Children's Rifle Festival takes place in Wildeshausen. It is the crowning glory of the guild festival with a colorful program: the invasion of the children's regiment is planned for 2:30 p.m. at the town hall, followed by the children's king at 5 p.m. In the evening you can look forward to a happy celebration in the marquee, which will certainly attract many small and large guests.

Another highlight of the weekend is the 5th US motor home meeting at Falkensteinsee, which lasts until Sunday. Around 100 to 120 American motorhomes and vans are expected here. Rieke Meiners from the Falkensteinsee campsite organizes the largest motor home meeting in Germany and has put a lot of effort into it. Two meadows are available for the vehicles, one for vans and one for larger motorhomes. Visitors are always welcome to experience the lively “city” of motorhomes.

The program of the meeting attracts with various stands to American products, culinary delicacies such as flaming salmon, spit roasts and crepes as well as music: On Friday, sole entertainer Jürgen Brinker creates a mood on Saturday, while the group "Hombre" from Schleswig-Holstein inspires the guests with their southern rock from 7:30 p.m. Simply a place to come together socially!

Sunday also offers exciting events. The Regional Environmental Education Center (RUZ) Hollen celebrates its 30th anniversary with a family party from 2 to 6 p.m. Families can take part in various stations, hands-on activities and even yoga workshops.

A completely different pleasure awaits visitors at the second day of action of the Dötlinger Garden Culture. On Sunday, private gardens open their goals and invite you to a program with music, art and tours through the "Immenhuus". If you are interested in plants and creative design, you will get your money's worth here!
