VfB Oldenburg U11 wins the H&P Charity Cup 2025!
Last weekend the hottest tournament of the year took place in Dörverden-Hülsen, which caused a lot of excitement. The U11 of VfB Oldenburg fought for a great piece of glory at the 13th Hafengesang & Puffmusik charity cup and secured victory. In temperatures that were quite demanding on the players, the team gave their all despite the heat and triumphed over their competitors.
The tournament, which took place on June 15, 2025 at the SV Vorwärts Hülsen sports facility, brought together a total of 20 registered teams. However, two teams, including MTV Treubund Lüneburg, canceled due to illness. However, this did not dampen the enthusiasm and commitment of those present. The organization received a lot of praise and was actively supported by numerous helpers from various clubs in Hülsen.
A spectacular performance by the U11s
VfB Oldenburg's U11 team started with the determination to live up to their role as favorites. The team showed an outstanding performance in the group phase and moved into the second round as first in the group. There the players dominated against the teams from VfL Oythe, SBV Erichshagen and SpVgg Niedersachsen-Döhren. Reaching the final was just the next step on the road to success. In the final they faced SV Kleeblatt Stöcken.
In an exciting final, the U11 celebrated a narrow but deserved 1-0 victory. There was great joy when the team was able to receive the trophy. For the players and coaches, the victory was more than just a success, it was an appreciation of their commitment, their enthusiasm for the game and their team spirit, as is also recorded on the VfB Oldenburg website (VfB Oldenburg).
Use for a good cause
But this tournament victory has more than just sporting significance. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Weserhaus in Hoya, a place that helps children who cannot live with their families. The Weserhaus, which opened in January, offers space for five children and would like to use the tournament proceeds to raise urgently needed funds for the redesign of their garden, which is estimated at around 5,000 euros. A redesign is planned, which includes, among other things, play equipment and a greenhouse area.
The commitment of the harbor singers and puff musicians who organized the tournament is an example of community spirit. The Aktion Teamgeist e.V. website also contains information about their commitment to disadvantaged children and young people in order to offer them a better perspective through football and other activities (Aktion Teamgeist).
Overall, the 13th Hafengesang & Puffmusik charity cup was not only a great sporting event, but also a sign of how community and sport can go hand in hand. If you would like to help, you can donate to the Hafensänger & Puffmusiker club account with the intended purpose “Weserhaus”.
Here’s to the next exciting events – both in sport and in social engagement!
For the teams and the community, this tournament was a wonderful opportunity to experience something new and serve a good cause. The results and joint effort have laid the foundation for further inspiring actions.
