Danger! This is how expensive parking at Bavaria's airports will be in 2025!
Parking at airports can be quite expensive, and in Bavaria in particular it is often a real cost trap. The consumer portal Allright took a close look at parking prices at 19 major German airports. This shows that travelers are well advised to find out about parking costs in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises. According to Merkur, Germans spent an average of 1,544 euros per person on their main trip in 2024. A funny reference, you might say, especially when you think about what comes with parking.
But what does that actually look like? The cheapest parking prices per week vary significantly and vary greatly depending on the airport. Surprisingly, the top prices are not in Bavaria, but in Dresden, Münster/Osnabrück and Cologne/Bonn, for example, where you can get the most basic parking spaces for a week for just 39 euros. Here is a brief overview of the best bargains:
| Place | Airport | Price per week |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dresden | 39 euros |
| 1 | Münster/Osnabrück | 39 euros |
| 1 | Cologne/Bonn | 39 euros |
| 4 | Paderborn/Lippstadt | 45.50 euros |
| 5 | Bremen | 47.30 euros |
| 6 | Memmingen | 58 euros |
| 7 | Leipzig/Halle | 61 euros |
| 8 | Frankfurt Hahn | 62 euros |
Bargains and great prices
The prices are particularly important if you spontaneously need a parking space. At Stuttgart Airport you can pay up to a whopping 350 euros for a weekly ticket, while at Munich Airport the price without a reservation can be up to 245 euros. If you like things a little cheaper in Nuremberg, you can at least benefit from a price increase from 86 euros to 162 euros - that's little in comparison.
The development of fees for holding and picking up is also interesting. Here, Stuttgart costs 40 euros for one hour of parking, while in Nuremberg you have to expect 6 euros after just eight free minutes. In Munich it's up to 18 euros, which is still within reasonable price limits.
Alternatives to parking
But Munich Airport apparently has an advantage: according to ADAC it offers comparatively low prices. You can park for three days if you choose parking level 7 with the weekend special for just 49 euros. In comparison, with 129 euros you get a lot more going on in Düsseldorf.
If you want to stay longer, for example for 14 days with the whole family, you can get away with 169 euros in Munich if the holiday special takes effect. It's definitely worth taking a closer look at the different options. Online booking is a real secret weapon for benefiting from special offers.
For transfers to the airport, it is also advisable to plan early and compare prices. Taxi alternatives such as FreeNow, SixtRide or Uber often offer cheaper options than classic taxis in cities such as Berlin, Munich or Frankfurt. Car sharing is also recommended as one of the second cheapest options when available. If you are traveling with your own car, you should also consider the cost of a return trip by private car, which is around 0.30 euros per kilometer.
Overall, a little patience and research can save you a lot of money when it comes to airport parking. And if you plan cleverly, you can also get a good deal on parking.
