The pre-Christmas season is in full swing in Osnabrück and invites the population to a colorful program. From December 5th to 7th, you can experience not only the festively illuminated streets and squares, but also a variety of cultural and musical events. The “Advent in the Old Town” event on December 5th and 6th is particularly attractive in the old town with its festive activities and extensive cultural offerings.

The Heger-Tor district will be the center of the Advent festival, which will take place today and tomorrow from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitors can look forward to atmospheric lighting, Christmas music and handicrafts. The laser show “Follow the Light” takes guests through the old town and to exciting art installations. There are not only a variety of offers for the whole family, but also delicious culinary surprises to discover.

Diverse music highlights

Music lovers get their money's worth at numerous events. The well-known musician Eddie Arndt will be performing in front of the warehouse today from 5 p.m. On Saturday, December 6th, the Ryuu Daiko drum group will perform their sounds at 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., also in front of the warehouse.

Another musical treat awaits you with a few rock events. On Saturday, December 6th, the finale of “Rock in der Region” will take place in the Haus der Jugend, where bands like Goon and Mel Robin will compete for the audience’s favor. Entry is only 5 euros. There is also the popular Torfrock Christmas concert at 7 p.m. in the Rosenhof, for which VIP tickets are available.

Cultural diversity and special events

This Friday, visitors to the Rosenhof can expect the Warhaus concert at 8 p.m. and the theater performance “Josef and Maria” at the same time. For art lovers, the exhibition “3D’25” in the sculpture gallery offers creative inspiration from 7 p.m.

For lovers of open-air events, there will be candlelight concerts in the Luther Church on December 6th, starting at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, the a cappella concert with the Draufsänger will also be held in the Gertrudenkirche, where tickets are available for 17 euros (reduced 12 euros).

Family activities and Christmas tours

Families are also warmly invited to take part in numerous activities. At the weekend you can enjoy the St. Nicholas rides on the Wittlager district railway, which depart on December 6th and 7th. An open studio in the former post office on Saturday also invites you to get creative.

On Sunday, December 7th, those interested can look forward to a tour of the “Rock Fossils” in the Museum am Schölerberg, while the Zonta Music Prize will be awarded at 5 p.m. in the Ameos Clinic. The Moated Castle Concert in Tecklenburg, which also begins on Sunday at 4 p.m., ensures musical diversity.
