Festival weekend in Osnabrück: fairy tales, music and more await you!
What's coming up in Osnabrück and the surrounding area next weekend? There is a colorful program under the motto “Free and outdoors”. From music to fairytale miles to environmentally conscious events, there is something for everyone. Friday, June 13th marks the start of a great weekend.
The start of the town festival in Georgsmarienhütte will take place on Red Square from today. From Friday to Sunday, guests can expect a beach bar with live music, a cocktail bar and an exciting boccia tournament. The festival starts with the band “Maraton” on Friday evening and offers indie rock sounds with “Caught Indie Act” on Saturday. On Sunday there is a morning pint with the Borgloher brass orchestra, which starts at 12 p.m. Entry is free, so go ahead!
Highlight: Ökomaile at Ziegenbrink
Another highlight for environmentally conscious visitors is the “Ökomaile” event. This will take place on Saturday, June 14th, from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Ziegenbrink Community Center. Despite normally taking place in May, the event has been postponed to June. Supported by FOKUS e.V., Ökomaile offers a variety of activities in which environmental initiatives and organizations present their participatory activities. The musical program is also impressive, with performances by artists such as NAOMI, Birte Stolte and Hertzcasper. It's worth stopping by - entry is free! By the way: Your physical well-being is taken care of with vegan and vegetarian snacks, supplemented by drinks from GZ Ziegenbrink and catering by Camp Cuisine.
On the same day, June 14th, the Fairytale Festival will take place in the Osnabrück Castle Courtyard. From 3 p.m., a varied music program with hip-hop, electronic indie and punk will be offered there, all without entry costs. The AStA at the University of Osnabrück invites everyone to let themselves be carried away by the sounds.
Cultural offerings in the area
But that's not all that Osnabrück and the surrounding area have to offer. On Friday evening, the theater performance “Three Winters” is on the program at the Theater am Domhof, and there is also live music, for example with Wood & Weber in the warehouse or Björn Amadeus at the Gertrudenkirche.
