German Building Cleaning Championship: Soltau in cleaning fever!

The German championship for building cleaning journeymen will take place in Soltau on November 6, 2025. The event in Heide Park promises exciting competitions in which young talents from all over Germany will demonstrate their skills. To qualify, participants from the national championships must all be under 27 years old and have completed the competition with at least a grade of “good”. This shows how committed the industry is to its young talent, which NDR reports.

The championship is not just a competition, but also a stage for presenting the diverse tasks in building cleaning. In the past, participants have had to clean a listed granite floor or shampoo a red carpet, for example. Such challenges show how demanding the job is and how important specialist knowledge in disinfection and hygiene is. The industry has around 700,000 employees in Germany and covers a wide range of services.

Participants and prize money

A particularly motivated participant is Erik Gaus from Peine, who at 24 years old also comes from Lower Saxony. This event is not just about the title, but also about attractive prize money: the winner receives 2,500 euros, the runner-up receives 1,500 euros and the third place receives 500 euros. These incentives not only promote ambition, but also the public image of the profession, which is a central aim of the competition.

The jury will evaluate the participants' achievements in various areas, which makes the competition even more exciting. Last year's location was the “Red Town Hall” in Berlin, and the previous venues also reflect the great importance of this event: from the Allianz Arena in Munich to the Semperoper in Dresden.

Career profile and future

The developments in building cleaning and its specialization, especially in the area of hygiene, are of great importance due to the collaboration with institutions such as the Hygiene Institute-Schubert and the Federal Association for Hygiene and Hospital Cleaning. The BUGeu works closely with the Federal Association of Certified and Qualified Experts in Europe (B.Z.S. e.V.). These institutions are pioneers in their industry and ensure that training and certifications remain at a high level, which is crucial for the future of the profession. According to information from BUGeu, building cleaning is being further developed through comprehensive specialist knowledge not only in Germany, but also in other European countries.

The German Championship for Building Cleaning Journeymen is much more than just a competition. It shows the potential of the industry, offers a platform for further development and promotes the reputation of the profession in society. With this in mind, we can look forward to an exciting competition!
