Colorful, cheerful and full of tradition – the shooting festival in Daseburg was also exciting this year! On June 16, 2025, Nils Rasche became the new king of the Daseburg shooters with the 54th shot. In a solemn ceremony, his wife, Julia, was proclaimed queen. Both are extremely happy about their new reign and the court, which consists of a large number of shooting couples. These include Lukas Peine and Marit Gievers as well as Daniel and Carina Peine, to name just a few. This solemn atmosphere was further enhanced by the presence of royal officers such as Christoph Müller and Benjamin Pommerenke. NW.de reports that the Daseburg shooting festival will be celebrated from June 28th to 30th.

As we look forward to the celebrations, it is important to know that the competition was not just about the title. Lena Bodemann was also named the town’s best shooter. The trophy awards are also an integral part of the festival: Marc Oppermann secured the former kings' trophy with a remarkable 108th shot, while Jörg Richter won the challenge cup for the younger shooters with the 35th shot. Guido Reineke won the challenge cup for the honorary shooters with the 22nd shot and rounded off the award ceremonies.

Traditions at the shooting festival

As is usual at shooting festivals, the feeling of community was at the forefront in Daseburg. Shooting festivals are widespread in Germany, not least because of the over 15,000 shooting clubs that take part in these celebrations. alle-schuetzenvereine.de emphasizes that the course of the festival varies, but often begins with a shooting competition to crown the new shooting king. After the shooting there is often a feast or the tapping of the beer barrel. The tradition usually also includes parades with marching bands, which strengthen the sense of community.

A special highlight in Daseburg is the children's shooting competition, where Niklas Friedrich was crowned children's king, while Luisa Friedrich won the title of children's queen. Such actions are important components that integrate the younger generation into the shooting club and make the festival accessible to all age groups.

Prepared for the future

With all of these events and awards, the Schützenfest in Daseburg shows a vivid picture of our local culture. Looking back on the past year, it can also be seen that the shooting festival season continued strongly in Daseburg. The joy and enthusiasm for this traditional celebration is unbroken and will continue to attract young people in the future, as the steady increase in membership numbers shows.
