Bobby car and soapboxes: Exciting race in Steterburg on June 14th!
There is great anticipation in Steterburg: the eagerly awaited bobby car and soapbox race will take place on June 14th. The venue is Ahornstrasse, where everything is already being prepared for the small celebrations. With the main sponsor, WEVG Salzgitter, behind you, unforgettable moments are guaranteed. Christian Striese invited the drivers to test on Friday and prepare for the competition. Everyone is welcome!
The paddock opens at 12 p.m. for all vehicles that have to undergo safety checks. The bobby car races begin at 1:30 p.m. on a 50-meter-long track, where the youngest participants get their money's worth. Not only the challenge awaits the little ones, but also a medal as a souvenir. The fastest driver can also expect to win a trophy, which should add to the excitement.
An exciting day for everyone
From 2.30 p.m. the track will be opened for the soap box race. This is where skill and speed come into play, as the participants start in individual timed starts. Depending on the number of participants, two scoring groups can be formed. Here, too, each participant receives a medal, and the three fastest drivers in each group can look forward to a trophy. The award ceremony is scheduled for after 6 p.m. so that the excitement remains until the end.
Physical well-being will also be taken care of around the event: delicious food and refreshing drinks await visitors in the paddock at the district meeting point. You can relax and cheer on the athletes in their achievements.
A look at the other events
The Soifa Bobby Club is also planning a big event for July 12th and 13th to celebrate its 20th anniversary. In addition to competitive runs on Saturday, there will be live music in the evening and even a night race including a time classification for equal chances of victory. Sunday will be a special highlight with the “Run of Legends”. Here the members look back at the beginnings of the association and present historical soapboxes.
