Winter magic in Salder Castle: PLAYMOBIL fantasy can be experienced!

There is nothing better in Salzgitter than experiencing the winter magic with PLAYMOBIL! Since December 1, 2025, the Salder Castle Municipal Museum has been the venue for the fascinating exhibition “PLAYMOBIL Winter Magic,” which presents the small plastic figures in magical winter landscapes. The talented diorama artist Oliver Schaffer has staged thousands of figures that bring the magic of the cold season to life. Particularly striking are the impressive large-scale scenes in the “Cow Barn” special exhibition room, which range from wintry cityscapes to festive moments. Smaller scenes can also be found in the permanent exhibition showcases, which offer countless opportunities to discover your own creativity.

What else is there to know? Entry to this very special exhibition is free and is open until March 1, 2026. Visitors can look forward to exciting opening times throughout the week: the museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. But be careful – the museum will be closed over the holidays from December 24th to January 1st, 2026. A highlight is the expansion of the presentation on December 27th, 28th and 30th specifically for the winter magic.

PLAYMOBIL rally and historical insights

It's not just the winter landscapes that captivate visitors young and old. You can now also attend a PLAYMOBIL rally in Salder Castle, which has been open since November 14th. Here the players have the chance to discover 13 small scenes from Salzgitter's history and follow in the footsteps of the past. This is supplemented by interesting information about the history of PLAYMOBIL, which is presented in the children's world area under the roof of the museum.

There are sufficient parking spaces in front of the castle, and access to the “Kuhstall” is barrier-free. But be careful: The castle itself cannot be offered completely barrier-free due to its listed building status, as there are stairs in the building. However, if everyone manages to explore the small and large game worlds, we can only hope that the exhibitors and artists create many charming memories that last beyond the winter.
Salzgitter.dereports that the exhibition at Salder Castle is very popular and is a must for every family.

If you are interested in the other activities and exhibition rooms or are looking for additional information on how to get there, you can take a look at the castle's website or read the reports RegionalTodayread through, which also focus on the highlights of the PLAYMOBIL exhibition.
