Kolbe and Lüdeke remain district chimney sweeps in Uelzen for seven years!

A small, solemn ceremony took place in the district hall today, at which District Administrator Dr. Heiko Blume appointed the district chimney sweeps Stefan Kolbe and Ingo Lüdeke for another seven years. This decision comes as part of the amendment to the chimney sweeping system, in which the sweeping districts can only be assigned for a limited period of time. Kolbe and Lüdeke successfully prevailed against other competitors in a selection process. Blume acknowledged their previous work and their current expertise and thanked them warmly.

As a result of the reappointment, everything remains the same in the sweeping districts of Uelzen 1 and Uelzen 9. Homeowners must continue to report changes to heating systems or the installation of new heating systems to the previous sweeping district owner. The sovereign tasks of the district chimney sweeps include, among other things, the inspection of fireplaces, the acceptance of new or converted heating systems and the keeping of the sweeping book, which records all heating systems in the sweeping district with deadlines for sweeping, checking and measuring.

Duties and responsibilities of the district chimney sweeps

The district chimney sweeps have a variety of tasks that are not just limited to the proper functioning of heating systems. They are also responsible for ensuring that owners comply with their obligations under relevant legislation. According to the law, they must regularly inspect the facilities in their district. These checks are scheduled at least every three to five years. If defects are identified, they are authorized to take temporary safety measures, which can even lead to the shutdown of a facility.

  • Prüfung der Betriebs- und Brandsicherheit von Heizungsanlagen
  • Führung des Kehrbuchs mit detaillierten Angaben zu allen Anlagen
  • Durchführung von Feuerstättenschauen

All entries in the sweeping book must be made meticulously and chronologically. When a district is handed over, the last seven years of sweeping records must be handed over. These obligations are of great importance to ensure the safety and functionality of heating systems.

The learning curve with Rubik’s Cube

Did you know that only about 5.8% of the global population is able to solve a Rubik’s Cube? This shows that it's not just about intelligence, but also about patience and practice. Especially for children aged seven to eight, solving the cube could be an excellent way to develop their problem-solving skills and spatial thinking.

Anyone who delves deeper into the subject can quickly celebrate success. World records are under seven seconds, while beginners often need several hours to master the cube. So, if you are still under the impression of Kolbe and Lüdeke's all-encompassing abilities, remember: even cracking a Rubik's Cube requires a certain persistence and strategy!
