Pfeifer Group starts sustainable major projects in Uelzen: wood recycling 2.0!

Uelzen, Deutschland - What is going on in Uelzen? The Pfeifer Group brings a fresh wind to the local wooden business with two large -scale projects. On July 10, 2025, the company announced that it would introduce a modern saw -line line and a new way to the old wood recycling system. These investments not only aim to protect resources, but also to sustainably promote the circular economy in the region. A clear step into the future that increasingly puts the wood sector in northern Germany in the spotlight.

The new old wood recycling system will process old wood of classes A1 and A2 from the region. This measure is part of a comprehensive investment package that aims to secure the work in Uelzen's long -term securing. This not only creates the possibility of producing pressing pallet blocks made of recycled wood, but also promoting the binding of CO2 by extended use of wood products. As the Pfeifer Group explains, the recycling of old wood makes a decisive contribution to climate and resource protection and also promotes the proximity to the availability of raw materials.

old wood recycling according to measure

The old wood that is processed comes exclusively from the region and thus contributes to reducing the CO2 footprint. The material is delivered with a visual test and a laboratory analysis to secure the quality. In the course of the recycling process, undesirable foreign substances are sorted out in the cleaning tower before the cleaned wood is crushed and processed into press gaps. This recycling practice meets the strict requirements of the old wood regulation and is supplemented by innovative techniques that ensure efficient use of raw materials.

The old wood regulation divides the old wood into different categories, from natural wood to contaminated old wood, and determines the respective material or energetic recovery. The distinction is important, because depending on the pollution, it is decided whether the wood can be recycled or not. So it happens that A i- and A II wood can be used for wood-based material production, while A IV wood can only be used for the production of environmentally friendly energy. This ensures that only clean and high quality material is attributed to the circulation. This differentiated approach is also reflected in the provisions of the old wood regulation.

A look into the future

The plans for the new, highly performance -capable saw -gel line are also ambitious. This will replace the system that is over 30 years old and not only increase efficiency, but also increase the yield. In the second half of 2025, the environmentally friendly technology is put into operation, whereby the system is continuously converted during production without the production having to be interrupted. The construction started in May 2024, whereby the hall roof for modern technology had to be raised by two meters. Here the innovative strength and the commitment of the Pfeifer Group show up, which has a good hand not only for its employees, but also for a sustainable future of the wooden industry.

Thanks to solid investments and well -thought -out strategies, Uelzen is about to establish itself as a significant location for modern wood recycling and sustainable use of wood resources. A sign is set here in an area that is characterized by urgent need for environmental protection and resource conservation. Wood is a valuable raw material that is not only in the new building, but also in recycling and in the circular economy, as well as the sustainability strategies of the wooden subject Meille. Uelzen is on the best way to become a pioneer in the timber industry.
