Sperber Veerßen is looking forward to the district cup semi-final against Woltersdorf!

The tension in the Heide-Wendland men's district cups is increasing: the semi-final pairings were drawn on December 30, 2025. This exciting draw took place as part of the Budenzauber in Ebstorf, led by Nadine Guskau, chairwoman of TuS Ebstorf. The teams can look forward to exciting encounters that are already generating anticipation.

In the semi-finals there will be an interesting duel between Sparrowhawk Veerßen, which plays in the 1st district class south, and the strong TuS Woltersdorf from a higher league. Coach Fabian Voigt from Veerßen is pleased with this “dream opponent”. Coach Thorsten Sasse from TSV Wriedel sees it differently, who is rather dissatisfied with the draw because the Wriedelers have to play against Ochtmisser SV. Wriedel is playing away, which doesn't make the challenge for the team any less.

Semi-finals & Reserves Cup

The semi-finals are scheduled for Easter Monday, April 6, 2026. So the tension will remain until then. The reserve cup is also about making it to the final: there the winner of the quarter-final between Sperber Veerßen II and VfL Suderburg II plays against the second team from TuS Erbstorf. This quarterfinal will take place on February 22, 2026 at 2 p.m. In the second semi-final of the reserve cup, the third team from VfL Breese/Langendorf meets FC SG Gartow II.

The finals for the district cups are planned for the days around Ascension Day, i.e. on May 13th and 14th, 2026, at the TuS Ebstorf facility. One more reason to note down your calendars and follow the teams' developments with interest.

A look beyond the district cup boundaries

The district cup is always an exciting topic in regional football, but other competitions do not stand still either. The large overview of results from the district cup competitions contains many exciting encounters. For example, FC Epe (state league) made it to the quarter-finals with a 1-0 win over SpVgg Vreden (upper league). The results of the quarter-finals are impressive, with ASC Schöppingen (district league) losing against GW Nottuln (competition unknown) with 0:5. These results show that the tension in the cup competitions is always high and all teams have to push themselves to their limits.
