EPG Guardians Koblenz are strengthening themselves with basketball talent Marko Bacak

Basketball fans in Koblenz can be happy: The EPG Guardians Koblenz have strengthened their squad for the coming season in the BARMER 2nd Basketball Bundesliga ProA. With Marko Bacak, an experienced center is moving to the Mosel, who is a real reinforcement with his height of 2.10 meters and his extensive experience from both the ProA and the Basketball Bundesliga. The 29-year-old has already played for well-known clubs such as EWE Baskets Oldenburg and Wiha Panthers Schwenningen in his career so far and brings strong potential to the Koblenz team. As the Rhein-Zeitung reports, Bacak, together with Alexander Möller, will ensure stability and depth in the frontcourt and significantly increase the physical presence under the baskets.

The Berlin native began his basketball journey at the age of 15 at Basketball Berlin Süd, where he quickly demonstrated his talent. In 2015, he moved to Oldenburg via the youth teams of the DBV Charlottenburg/TuS Lichterfelde syndicate and the ALBA Berlin II, where he attracted attention in the ProB. Bacak made his debut in the Basketball Bundesliga in March 2016 and played a total of 52 games for EWE Baskets Oldenburg in the following years. He then gained experience with other clubs before finally playing for Rasta Vechta II, where he averaged 6.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in 22 games.

A conscious decision for Koblenz

The decision to move to Koblenz was apparently not difficult for Marko Bacak. Despite other offers, he is excited to live and play in the city. “I would like to thank the club for their trust,” said Bacak, expressing confidence that he and his new teammates will have a successful season. Head coach Stephan Dohrn also highlights Bacak as an experienced and versatile player who can help the team both defensively and offensively. Managing director Thomas Klein is also pleased about the commitment and is looking forward to the upcoming season with great anticipation.

With Marko Bacak, the EPG Guardians are sending a clear signal for the coming season. The new additions should not only improve the team's playing strength, but also promote the mood and cohesion in the team. Fans will be excited to see how the new combination of baskets will affect the Guardians' game.

The Koblenz squad continues to be expanded, and those responsible are optimistic that they can form a powerful team that will perform well in the 2025/2026 season. Because one thing is clear: something is happening in Koblenz!
