There was a spectacular accident in Wilhelmshaven on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, which presented the local police with a challenge. An unknown truck driver rammed a parked vehicle at the Heetestrasse/Paulstrasse intersection around 11:40 a.m. and dragged it for several meters before the car came to a stop in the middle of the intersection. The truck driver left the scene of the accident without caring about the damage caused. This brazen traffic accident escape has prompted the police to urgently look for witnesses who can provide information about the fleeing truck. In particular, information on license plates and the model of the vehicle is missing. The Wilhelmshaven police station is asking for help on 04421/9420.
But that's not the only recent incident that has given officials headaches. On April 30, 2025, another traffic accident occurred, followed by an escape. Between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. there was a collision on Oststrasse in which a black BMW was damaged on the left front. Here too, the person who caused the accident left without complying with legal obligations or informing the police. The Wilhelmshaven police have also started investigations into this case and are issuing the same call for witnesses: Information is urgently needed to shed light on the matter.
