Volksbank Jade-Weser presents 95 clubs with over 92,000 euros!

December 5th was a solemn occasion for the clubs in Friesland and Wilhelmshaven: the Volksbank Jade-Weser distributed an impressive 92,350 euros to 95 local clubs and institutions on the occasion of Volunteering Day. These are not just small sums of money, but important support that flows directly back into the community. Over the entire year, the bank distributed a total of 226,000 euros to non-profit organizations, including clubs, social institutions, fire departments and daycare centers.

Board member Waldemar Kelm welcomed the representatives of the sponsored associations to the Jever real estate and financial center. At this celebratory event, symbolic checks were presented to the clubs by branch managers and customer advisors. The projects that benefit from this generous funding are diverse and range from the purchase of animal welfare-friendly boxes for the BRH rescue dog squad to a new training aircraft for the Jever model building club.

Diverse projects in focus

A look at the projects supported shows how broad the support is. The Jever dance sports club receives a mobile work platform and the Horumersiel Historical Sea Rescue Association finances a weatherproof pavilion. The Hooksiel kindergarten can also look forward to the support for raised beds, while the Sandelermöns village community association can purchase a new lawnmower. These investments are not only important for the clubs, but also strengthen cooperation in the region.

The funds come from the net income of VR Profit Savings, which has existed for over 70 years. By investing five euros a month - one euro of which goes into the lottery and four euros is used for the savings contribution - the winning savers can not only earn financial winnings of between 4 and 25,000 euros, but also help the money flow into charitable, cultural and social projects. Applications for funding are decided and paid out annually after the organizations submit their application for specific projects.

Commitment to the region

An initiative by the Emsland Volksbank, which distributed over 124,000 euros to 118 clubs in 2024. This commitment shows that many banks in the region strive to support social projects and thus give something back to the community. Here too, the net income from profit savings is used specifically to finance specific projects, a wonderful opportunity to pool commitment and support.

Finally, 52,000 euros will also flow into the special “VRmobil – Children’s Bus” campaign, which aims to create more mobility for the little ones. This means that not only the large clubs are given a helping hand – the smallest members of society also benefit from these funds.

The Volksbank Jade-Weser With its campaigns, it not only manages to make saving attractive for its customers, but also shows that community commitment is highly valued. This proves once again that you can achieve a lot with a good hand for local projects.
