Dynamo Dresden secures Wolves talent Kofi Amoako for second division fight!

Kofi Amoako has taken a new step in his football career. The 20-year-old is leaving VfL Wolfsburg and immediately joining second division promoted team Dynamo Dresden. After a loan to VfL Osnabrück, where he played 36 competitive games, he now sees the chance to get started in Dresden. The Wolves would like to thank him very much and wish him all the best for the future, as VfL Wolfsburg reports.

The young midfielder is considered promising at Dynamo. Thomas Brendel, the SGD's sports director, emphasizes that Amoako was able to show his potential last season and should take on a key role in the center of the game. In Dresden he is expected to fully develop his abilities as a defensive midfielder, as he did in his last season with Osnabrück for 2,219 minutes, as Dynamo Dresden announced.

A look at Kofi Amoako's career

Amoako was born on May 6, 2005 in Hannover and started his career at TSV Fortuna Sachsenross before moving to Hannover 96's youth team in 2016. In 2019 he moved to the U17 of VfL Wolfsburg, where he even became captain of the U19. After signing his first professional contract and making his Bundesliga debut on December 16, 2023, he moved to Osnabrück on loan in the summer of 2024. There he was able to gain valuable experience and develop further.

The injury woes that have plagued some teams this season give players like Amoako the opportunity to prove themselves in the starting eleven. Dynamo head coach Thomas Stamm is convinced that Amoako's athleticism and understanding of the game will bring stability to the team. With this commitment, the club could have shown exactly the right hand to overcome the start-up problems in the coming season and stay in the league.

Amoako's outlook on the new challenge

Kofi Amoako himself is enthusiastic about the change and is looking forward to the atmosphere in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium. He also emphasizes that he wants to develop personally and contribute to the successful season in the second division. His impressive career in the DFB's youth team, where he progressed through the U17, U18 and U19 national teams and finally made his debut for the U20 on March 21, 2025, suggests that we can expect a lot more from him in the future.

The entire football world is now looking forward to developments in the second division. Further information is also available on Kicker.
