SC Freiburg, which lost 3-1 in the cup game against Wolfsburg, has the clear goal of correcting the mistakes of this game. Kapllani emphasizes that respect for the league's top teams plays an inhibiting role in the players' minds and can affect their performance. “We have to bring our strengths to the pitch and, above all, find footballing solutions,” said the coach. In order to win the game, he calls for creating more chances and minimizing defensive mistakes.
Personnel challenge
In view of the staff shortages, the situation for Freiburg is tense. Ally Gudorf is still out for an indefinite period of time, Alina Axtmann is in retraining after meniscus surgery, while Julia Stierli and Sophie Nachtigall are also battling injuries. The latter is in rehabilitation after knee surgery. Despite these challenges, the team is determined to make the best of the situation.
Wolfsburg, known as one of the strongest teams in the league, will be a tough nut to crack. The squad is of high quality, and in order to get something countable, you will also need a bit of luck. The Freiburg women are aware of this and want to take the next step in their development, even if they have only just come out of the cup game against Wolfsburg.
