A look at the ice hockey weekend: The Lions Frankfurt face two important games after suffering two bitter defeats last week. However, the Grizzlys' last games were marked by poor form; they lost six of the last eight games. A critical look at the lions
The lions also have to deal with their own challenges. With a goal difference of 54 to 93, they reveal weaknesses in both offense and defense. They have the fewest completions and shots on goal in the entire league and with a Corsi balance of 40.95% and the weakest face-off rate of 44.57%, they can't exactly inspire self-confidence. The pressure is now on Tom Pokel, who has Nathan Burns back in the team after his injury but still needs an offensive output that has not been satisfactory so far.
The next opponent will also be EHC Red Bull Munich, who are currently in 5th place and have won 10 of the last 13 games. Their focus is on the strong offensive, which shines in the league with 1,361 completions as well as 757 shots on goal and a power play success rate of 26.09%. The Lions can draw some confidence from the previous duel in which they defeated Munich 2-1. But the Munich team is coming back from their last two defeats against Iserlohn and Dresden and will certainly be looking for revenge.
