Wolves prepare for cup draw: big events in sight!

An exciting Sunday is coming up for football fans, as the DFB Cup draw will take place on June 13, 2025 at 5:15 p.m. in the German Football Museum in Dortmund. As VfL Wolfsburg reports, Owen Ansah will act as a “lottery fee” and Lili Engels will moderate the event. The anticipation for the coming season is increasing as the Wolves will play their first competitive game between August 15th and 18th.

A very special focus is currently on Tiago Tomás. The striker, who was born on June 16, 2002 and plays for VfL Wolfsburg, took part in the European Championship with the Portugal U21 national team. His first tournament game against France ended in a 0-0 draw and he was substituted after 80 minutes. The next group game against Poland is on Saturday at 9 p.m. In addition to the national team, Tomás has already achieved considerable success at club level, including a move from Sporting CP to VfL Wolfsburg for a transfer fee of up to 10.3 million euros after attracting attention last season. According to Wikipedia, he made his professional debut back in 2020 and has continued to develop his skills as a valuable player.

Young people and movement

VfL Wolfsburg is not letting up when it comes to young talent either. The U13 juniors will travel to Poland for the “Pajor & Tarczynska Visa Summer Cup” on June 14th and 15th. With a lot of ambition and the goal of repeating their successes from the last two years, in which they took third place each, the young talents are looking forward to the competition in Uniejow. For many of the girls this will be a great opportunity to prove themselves on a bigger stage.

Another highlight is the daycare cooperation with the “Altes Freibad” daycare center in Meine. The successful exercise offer period from April 23rd to June 4th will be continued due to the great interest. There will be regular offers from January to March. The daycare center is also officially recognized as a “partner daycare center” of VfL Wolfsburg and receives a certificate and exclusive offers. This is a remarkable step for the daycare center and shows VfL's commitment to assuming social responsibility in the region.

Financial challenges

Unfortunately, VfL Wolfsburg is also faced with financial challenges. The DFB sports court has sentenced the club to fines totaling 37,000 euros for misconduct in away games. The penalties relate to incidents in the games against Werder Bremen (10,000 euros), Union Berlin (12,000 euros) and Borussia Dortmund (15,000 euros). Such punishments are never pleasant news, but they also provide an opportunity to learn from the mistakes and improve club management.

So much for the news from Wolfsburg's sporting events. The coming weeks promise exciting events, whether on or off the pitch! Keep up to date with the latest developments!
