B&B Hotels and Land Union: New hotel opened in Lübeck!
In a remarkable development in the northern German hotel landscape, the Land Union Group and B&B Hotels have launched a strategic partnership. This collaboration, which aims to achieve long-term success in the hotel segment, will be heralded with the opening of the first joint project, the B&B Hotel Lübeck-Berliner Platz in Lübeck. The Land Union Group remains on the ball as owner, while B&B Hotels acts as operator. This first joint initiative is just the beginning, as the Land Union Group plans to build ten more hotels in Germany and Europe in the coming years, it is reported HogaPage.
With currently 28 hotels in its portfolio, the Land Union Group is an important player in the international real estate and investment landscape. Its founder and sole shareholder, Lutz Strangemann, has built up an impressive corporate structure with assets of over 2 billion euros, which includes offices in metropolises such as Berlin, London, Monaco and Bangkok. The success of B&B Hotels, which was founded in Brest, France in 1990 and now operates over 900 hotels in 18 European countries as well as in Brazil and the USA, is also reflected in the support of the main shareholder Goldman Sachs, which has held a decisive stake since 2019.
New hotel project in Unterschleißheim
Another exciting project by B&B Hotels is being realized in the Lohhof Quartier in Unterschleißheim. Here B&B Hotels has signed a 20-year lease for around 3,500 m². The conversion of this space into a hotel involves an investment of 9.6 million euros and is expected to include 93 rooms. This was done by Europe RE reported.
The Lohhof Quartier, which offers a total of 28,000 m² of rental space, consists of seven connected buildings and is only about 15 km southeast of Munich Airport. The direct S-Bahn connection and good road connections make the location particularly attractive. The reorganization will be pushed forward after the Deutsche Pfandbriefbank moves out in 2019. Of particular note, B&B Hotel shares a common development core with the adjacent office building, which both reduces costs and makes the conversion more environmentally conscious.
Sustainability in focus
When developing the project, sustainability and long-term tenant loyalty are at the center of the strategy. By creating 50 underground parking spaces and 10 charging stations for electric vehicles, B&B Hotels is focusing on modern mobility. The largest tenant in the complex is Philips, and further negotiations are currently underway with industry representatives from fitness, retail and hospitality.
These two promising projects show that the collaboration between the Land Union Group and B&B Hotels not only brings a breath of fresh air to the northern German hotel landscape, but is also groundbreaking for future developments in the area of sustainable hotel concepts. Interest in investment and development in the region remains high and the partnership has the potential to have a significant impact on the local economy and tourism industry.
