On the third Tuesday in October 2025, more precisely on October 14th, a very special event awaits us in cozy Lübeck: “The lights are still burning in the monastery”. This scenic tour takes us through the historic walls of the castle monastery and opens the door to the past.
Under the torches that illuminate the monastery's inner courtyard, Brother Jakobus and the merchant's widow Anneke will tell stories from days long past. The event lasts around 90 minutes and is an exciting mix of historical narrative and entertaining anecdotes. Topics such as trade, faith and the everyday lives of people in earlier centuries are brought to life. Not only major historical events are examined, but also everyday life, which was once strikingly different from our lives today.
