Create a green oasis in Lübeck with us – join in now!

Something is happening in the area of nature experience spaces in Lübeck! On Saturday, November 1st, 2025, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., an exciting event will take place on the “Naturerlebnisraum Strukbach” allotment garden area in St. Lorenz Nord. Here, anyone interested can help shape the overgrown area and give it a green oasis. HL Live reports that there will be numerous activities: from a short tour of the site to changing the wild growth to building deadwood hedges and creating paths.

The project is supported by several organizations, including Hanse-Obst e.V. and NABU Lübeck. Their common goal is to use this place as a recreational area and fruit biotope for the residents. In addition, educational offerings should be made possible that focus on nature. Participation in the events, which take place on the first Saturday of every month, is free of charge. Robust clothing and gloves are recommended for participants. The meeting point is at Strukbach 2, where the stone stairs lead into the area.

Experience spaces for all generations

The Strukbach gem is just one of many nature experience spaces in Lübeck that allow you to experience nature with all your senses. Lübeck.de emphasizes that activities such as climbing trees, damming streams or playing in the bank mud are expressly invited here. These places are designed to promote positive experiences with nature and to ensure that their use does not have a negative impact on the environment.

Literature meets nature

An interesting project that also promotes the connection between nature and creativity is “7 Natures”. This is an initiative that invites selected authors to engage literary with the natural experience spaces in Lübeck. Naturbetrachtungen reports that an open call took place between May 21 and June 21, 2023 and seven authors received a one-day writing grant. The results were presented in a reading in August 2023, with QR codes in the nature experience rooms pointing to the resulting texts.

Overall, Lübeck impressively shows how living spaces for nature and its communication can be created through community commitment. Whether you are actively involved in shaping things or exploring things through literature – here nature does not remain untouched, but rather opens up to people in a variety of ways.
