The largest football field in Groß Steinrade is becoming a modern multi-sports field!

There will be a lot happening in the area of sports and leisure in Groß Steinrade in the future! From autumn 2025, the football field at Margaretha-Jenisch-Ring will be extensively renovated and converted into a modern multi-sports field. This positive decision was supported by the Possehl Foundation, which is providing a generous 90,000 euros for the project. Football and basketball fans can look forward to a new synthetic surface that will not only provide an attractive playing surface, but also enable water-permeable drainage.

The renovation promises a meaningful upgrade of the sports facility, which, it should be said, is long overdue. Installing rain retention also creates an advanced drainage system. We can't wait to see how the new sporting opportunities will boost the activities of young people in the area. The biggest drawback: The field will remain closed during the entire construction phase, which will certainly cause some inconvenience until the construction work is completed in April 2026 and the new sports field can be opened.

Architectural expertise meets tradition

Who is behind this exciting project? The Possehl Construction Group, a company known not only for its craftsmanship traditions, but also for innovative solutions in construction. With over 1,500 employees and annual sales of around 328 million euros (as of 2024), the group has established itself as a reliable partner. Her expertise spans multiple construction areas, including transportation and surface engineering and restoration. The construction project in Groß Steinrade is just one of many examples of how tradition and progress can go hand in hand to improve the infrastructure of our communities.

In 2024, Possehl Construction Group recorded an impressive increase in sales, climbing from 150 million euros in 2013 to over 320 million euros. This suggests that they have a good knack for sustainable and innovative solutions.

A look into the future

The renovation of the football field will promote both athletes and community gatherings. After all, sport is an important part of social life - especially in smaller communities. The conversion into a multi-sports field will help many people to stay active and come together. This means that the football field not only becomes a sporting arena, but also a meeting place.

The anticipation is increasing, because until the synthetic surface is applied in April 2026, we can eagerly wait to see how the new sports field will make hearts beat faster. A clear plus for the Groß Steinrade region!
