Autumn market in the Holy Spirit Hospital: Discover creative diversity!

In the heart of Lübeck, in the Holy Spirit Hospital, things will soon be colorful and creative! The 40th Autumn Market for Hobby Artists will take place from October 25th to November 2nd, 2025. In this unique event, seniors, people with disabilities and social organizations present their artistic works and handmade products. Under the motto “Our hobbies – social organizations, people with disabilities and senior citizens exhibit,” visitors can expect a wide range of offerings.

The ceremonial opening will be held on October 25th by Pia Steinrücke, Senator for Economics and Social Affairs. Every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., those interested can visit the around 100 exhibitors and marvel at the creative work. Last entry is at 4:30 p.m., leaving plenty of time to explore the unique woodwork, knitting, embroidery, sewing, watercolor artwork, and pottery pieces.

Diversity and community

The Fall Market is more than just a sales event – it is a gathering place for the community. Over 20 new hobby artists have registered this year to present their work and perhaps also make a good deal. Exhibitors have had the opportunity to register since August 1, 2025, and the response in recent years has been consistently positive. People with disabilities and older citizens aged 60 and over are particularly addressed. The autumn market becomes a place of encounter and exchange that invites everyone.

The exhibition rooms, including the nave cabins and the historic church hall, provide a beautiful backdrop for the creative exhibits. In addition, the bistro and cafeteria invite you to take a short break. There are daily changing hot dishes, snacks and a delicious “café for young and old” in the vaulted cellar with waffles, cakes, coffee and tea.

Cultural highlights

Musical entertainment will be provided by performances in cooperation with the Lübeck Music School on October 28th and November 1st at 3 p.m. A special highlight is the upcycling fashion show on October 30th at 3:30 p.m., organized in collaboration with the Evangelisches Frauenwerk Lübeck/Lauenburg. These events not only bring art and culture together, but also promote the social integration of everyone involved.

Accessibility plays a central role at the fall market. A barrier-free environment enables seniors and people with disabilities to actively participate in social life. This also includes access to digital media and offerings as well as the design of an appealing environment that promotes social exchange. The event lives up to this requirement and makes it its mission to offer inviting and accessible spaces in which everyone can feel comfortable. This is particularly important to improve quality of life and strengthen social contacts.

Participation in the autumn market is free, and anyone interested is warmly invited to immerse themselves in the creative world of hobby artists. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact the Social Security Department on (0451) 122-4454 or visit the Hanseatic City of Lübeck website.

Be there and be inspired – the autumn market in the Holy Spirit Hospital promises an unforgettable experience for young and old!
