During Advent, the Circus Roncalli and its Christmas circus are moving back to Lübeck and have designed an impressive three-part awning for their guest performance in front of the Holstentor. The idea behind this awning, which was specially made for the circus, is to offer visitors a warm and dry ambience - without the usual beer tent flair. Like the Lübeck News report, this tent was tailor-made by specialist companies in Italy and the Netherlands before being delivered to Cologne in the form of a kit.

Patrick Philadelphia, the managing director, measured the area in front of the Holstentorhalle in March. Particularly challenging was taking into account the existing trees, which meant that classic bracing like the main tent could not be used. The result is impressive: the light-flooded awning is reminiscent of a bright orangery and offers enough space with an area of ​​471 square meters.

A restaurant in a class of its own

The awning includes a Roncalli foyer with a small snack area and a gourmet restaurant that can accommodate up to 120 people. Here guests can enjoy a delicious three-course meal before the show. The construction of this impressive structure took four days and was carefully carried out by a team of 16.

The artists from all over the world arrive in Lübeck on St. Nicholas Day to prepare for the premiere on December 11th. The Circus Roncalli has established itself over the years as one of the main attractions at Christmas time, and this year the event promises great joy for the whole family.

With a program that includes, among other things, motorcycle rides on the high wire and new horse dressage, this circus is also a highlight of the festive season. The premiere will take place on December 19th and the anticipation is great.
