Missing Horst D. in Schleswig-Holstein: Police are asking for information!
At the Kaaksburg parking lot in Itzehoe, Schleswig-Holstein, the police became active in a dramatic missing person case. Horst D., 43 years old from Wartha, Saxony, has been missing since the night of Tuesday, August 12th. The man's last signs of life came from his cell phone, which was located at the parking lot in question. Figuratively speaking, there is enormous concern; family and friends are waiting for news of his well-being.
The blue Renault Clio with the Saxon license plate BZ JH 908 has also disappeared, which further complicates the situation. Horst D.'s health is particularly worrying as it is suspected that he is in an exceptional psychological state. That's why the authorities see a possible threat to his health.
Intensive search measures
On Wednesday afternoon, the police and fire department did everything they could to find the missing man. The drone group of the Tensbüttel-Röst Volunteer Fire Department supports the search from the air. Despite these extensive efforts, the search has so far been unsuccessful. Residents and passers-by are asked to support the officers in the search. “Any information can be helpful,” emphasizes a police spokesman. The public search, which has been running since Tuesday, has mobilized the population to become aware of information about Horst D.'s whereabouts.
The Görlitz police, responsible for the small town of Wartha, are calling on all citizens with information to contact the Hoyerswerda police station or any other police station directly. “It is important to us to bring Horst back safe and sound,” said the police spokesman.
Background on missing person cases in Germany
Unfortunately, Horst D.'s fate is not an isolated case. In Germany, between 200 and 300 people are reported missing every day, although many cases can be resolved quickly. The clearance rate for missing children is impressive at 99.8 percent, while for young people aged 14 to 17 the rate is 97.6 percent. Despite these positive statistics, dealing with missing person cases needs to be taken very seriously. Relatives should immediately call 110 if someone is missing. An immediate response can often be crucial.
In the case of Horst D., there remains hope that he will soon be found safe and sound. The search continues and police remain optimistic.
Anyone with information should please contact police. Information can be reported by calling 03571/4650 or directly at any police station.
