What would Advent be without a little singing? This is celebrated in a big way in Waren (Müritz) on December 23rd, when the WerkHausWaren Living Advent Calendar invites you to the “Waren sings Christmas carols” event. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the hall of the spa center and entry is possible from 5 p.m. A seemingly endless choir of citizens and choir members from the Waren choirs will perform pop, rock and contemplative Christmas songs there. The focus is on a sense of community – without any pressure to perform and with a lot of heart. If you feel like it, you can simply mingle with the crowd and sing along, as everyone who is interested is warmly welcome.
The event location, the spa center at Am Kurpark 2, offers a cozy atmosphere in which participants can get in the mood for the upcoming festive season. As nordkurier.de reports, the Christmas carols are both well-known and loved and contribute to the festive atmosphere.
Pure Christmas spirit
On Friday, December 20, 2024, a big Christmas carol singing took place in Waren as part of the Living Advent Calendar. The open-air stage was filled with happy faces as participants sang old and new Christmas carols together. Many experienced a nostalgic time as the song lyrics were played and QR codes were provided for easy access. Matthias Hübner was the musical director and was supported by talented participants such as the multi-instrumentalist Johannes Klan and the pianist Jens Poguntke.
A versatile trio consisting of Rüdiger Prehn, Matthias Hübner and Lise Esmann took care of the moderation. These generations combined bring a very special touch to the Christmas performances. Doors opened at 5 p.m. and the social gathering contributed significantly to the Christmas atmosphere. We are already thinking about continuing this beautiful tradition in 2025.
