Bremen celebrates a barrier -free festival of cultures with 200,000 visitors!

The 37th Breminale in Bremen let it rip this year! Around 200,000 visitors flocked to the bank of the Weser on five days and enjoyed a colorful program without an admission price. Over 120 musicians provided musical highlights, while numerous art and yoga courses, a ferris wheel and second-hand sales expanded the festival concept. "The weather was great and the number of visitors was gratifying," says Jonte von Döllen, the artistic direction of the Breminals. In the previous year, the event only attracted about 160,000 people, which was attributed to the bad weather and the European Football Championship, but this year the event showed its best side. Gastronomers reported a significant increase in sales compared to the previous year, and in the end around 500 barrels of beer found their way to the thirsty throats of the festival visitors. n-tv reports that ....

Special attention was paid to accessibility and inclusion this year. With various measures, the organizers would like to ensure that as many people as possible can take part in the Breminals. Jonas Gudegast, sustainability speaker of the Breminale, emphasizes that they have implemented a bundle of measures for the first time. This includes the "Buddie network", a free accompanying service for people with disabilities, in cooperation with the association "Inclusion must be loud". A wheelchair platform was set up in front of the "lock" stage, and a WiFi listening system enables users to receive the audio signal directly on their hearing aids. diverse offers for all

The Breminale has not only put up with culturally, but also inclusive this year. The venue, the meadows on the Osterdeich and the Kunsthalle in the park, has been made accessible to many people. The program ranged from concerts to readings and children's theater, all free and open to everyone. The buddie network requires prior registration and is supported by volunteers who accompany people with a "B" in the severely disabled ID card. There are alternative solutions for people without severely disabled people who need support due to neurodiversity. City of Kultur Bremen explains that ....

In order to make the visit as pleasant as possible for everyone, barrier -free toilets are also available, and information about arrival, gradients and directions can be found on the Breminals website. If you have special questions, you can contact Jonas Gudegast at any time or find out more at the Infopoint and at the Avarness Teams on site. The Breminale is committed to making culture accessible to everyone and reducing barriers - a goal that will continue to be very popular in the future!
