Three robbers attack 100-year-olds brutally in downtown Bremen!

In the downtown Bremen, there was a shocking incident that lets the citizens startle in the region. On Friday, May 30th, a 100-year-old man was the victim of a brutal robbery. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on the corner of Sandstrasse and Wilhadistraße, directly behind St. Petri Dom. According to information from Butnen a trio pursued the extremely violent method to steal the valuable property of the senior.

As the police Bremen and the public prosecutor report, the perpetrators initially plunged onto the older gentleman. It was pressed to the ground and a gold wristwatch from the Patek Philippe brand, model 3700, was violently torn from his wrist. An accomplice held the victim's son -in -law while the attack took place. These brutal approaches throw a bright light on increasing violent crime in northern Germany.

The escape of the perpetrators

After the attack, the perpetrators were able to flee via Wilhadistraße into Violenstrasse and further into Ostertorswallstrasse towards the ramparts. The investigation of this three-master operation is taken over by SOKO Junge Räuber. Witnesses have already been interviewed and the first evidence was secured. Fortunately, two alleged perpetrators could be identified by video recordings, which reinforces the hope of rapid findability of the criminals.

In a public search, the crime service will now be received. If you have information about the perpetrators, you can contact the phone number 0421 362-3888. In addition, the press office of the Bremen police, represented by Nils Matthiesen, is available under the numbers 0421/362-12114 or 0421/362-3749 for inquiries.

an increase in the predatory offenses

The incident is not isolated, but part of a worrying trend in Germany. According to Statista there were over 38,000 predatory offenses in 2022, with an increase in various types of thefts, such as hand pocket craps and even raids on petrol stations. The number of unreported cases could be even higher because many crimes are not reported.

Especially between 2006 and 2015 the number of burglaries increased, while a decline was recorded in the following six years. However, in 2022 there was again an increase in the overall crime in Germany and affects the feeling of security of the population.

The police and the public prosecutor appeal to the citizens of being vigilant and immediately informing the authorities in the event of conspicuous observations. In such an environment, it is more important than ever to stick together and to support each other.
