Werder Bremen brings handball talent Lisa Munderloh from Oldenburg!
A breath of fresh air is blowing for SV Werder Bremen in the 2nd Alsco Handball Bundesliga. The Bremen team have shown a good hand and, as is well known, signed Lisa Munderloh from VfL Oldenburg. The 21-year-old backcourt player brings fresh energy and promising talents that she has developed over the course of her career. Today's news is particularly important because Munderloh continues to hold her right to play at VfL Oldenburg, where she will gain important experience in the third division.
According to Patrice Giron, Werder's sporting director, the need for new players in the team was obvious due to several injuries. “We have to be more broadly positioned to meet the challenges,” emphasizes Giron. Munderloh can play in all backcourt positions and has already gained valuable Bundesliga experience. In the current season she has scored 34 goals in the 3rd League North and her team was able to reach the top of the table undefeated after seven match days. A successful start!
A step in the right direction
Lisa Munderloh sees her move to Werder Bremen as an important step in her sporting development. After she started her handball career at the Elsflether TB at the age of five and came to VfL Oldenburg via a doubles game in Delmenhorst, she quickly showed her potential. In 2018 she moved to VfL's youth team, where she won the Lower Saxony championship and the Oberliga championship as a junior. “I want to concentrate on and develop my position in the backcourt,” she explains.
Munterloh made her Bundesliga debut this season and has integrated very well into the team. Her coach Niels Bötel praised her performance in training and in the first games, which is a confirmation of the young player's hard work and tireless commitment. She would like to repay the trust placed in her with increasing performance.
Fit for the challenges
In order to quickly gain a foothold in the Werder Bremen team, Munderloh is constantly involved in training. Head coach Renee Verschuren is pleased with the reinforcements and emphasizes that she would like to integrate Munderloh into the team quickly. The task won't be easy - especially since players like Anna Lena Bergmann are out due to a hand injury. Lisa should be introduced to her new tasks even more easily in the next few weeks.
Munderloh will make her second division debut against HSG Freiburg on December 20, 2025, and expectations are high. Both Werder and VfL Oldenburg are relying on successful cooperation to promote Munderloh's talent and further strengthen the defense of their two teams. Andreas Lampe, managing director of VfL, supports the change and emphasizes the importance of the cooperation with Werder.
The fans can look forward to exciting games and a newly formed team. Lisa Munderloh is ready to prove her skills and get started at Werder.
