Details about the construction site
The construction site is part of the K20 Hochstraße Elbmarsch project, which is being implemented by DEGES on behalf of Autobahn GmbH. One of the main measures is the expansion of the A7 from six to eight lanes. Traffic has been moving over the new superstructure of the northbound carriageway since spring 2024, and work is currently underway on the southbound carriageway. According to auto-motor-und-sport, the continuous closure is necessary in order to advance the integration of the new tunnel control center in the Elbtunnel operations building.
Anyone who wants to drive heavy transport or large vehicles should prepare well, as the A7 is not accessible in both directions due to construction work. Specific diversions were organized for through traffic via the A1, A21 and B205. These diversions are communicated through a network control system with LED signage, which informs road users in real time.
