Altona 93 celebrates promotion: New stars and a breath of fresh air in the team!

What a day for the Altona football club! On June 30, 2025, the team officially celebrated promotion to the Regionalliga Nord. Head coach Andreas Bergmann is convinced that the current squad is well prepared for the challenges of the new league. “We have a competitive team,” said Bergmann proudly. Ragnar Törber, the second chairman, and Gianluca Przondziono supported this assessment and are optimistic about the coming season.

But there wasn't only positive news. The club has to part with eight players, including well-known names such as Lawrence Schön, Eudel Monteiro and Oliver Doege. These changes could be challenging, but the focus is now on the new additions to bring a breath of fresh air to the team.

Strong new additions for Altona 93

A real stroke of luck is Nils Brüning, who, with his 211 regional league games, is a valuable addition to the defense. Emmanuel Ntsiakoh, who is moving from FC Teutonia 05 to Altona 93, should also strengthen the team. The defense will also be strengthened by Josh Redfield, who originally comes from California. This shows that Altona 93 is ready to look beyond national borders to sign the best talent.

But it's not just the defense that will be strengthened: Emmanuel Appiah brings valuable enthusiasm from the HSV U21 team, while Tayfun Can, the central midfielder, will bring his regional league experience from ETSV Hamburg. Bendix Gelzer and Keenon Erfurth, who are moving from SV Eichede, also have the potential to significantly enrich the team.

Looking into the future

Despite the departures, Törber is confident: “Most of the players who were responsible for our promotion are staying in the team.” This consistency could be crucial for Altona 93 to gain a foothold in the new league.
